Ouija secrets uncovered??

What is Ouija? Ouija board is a game where a small group of people summons a spirit and communicate with it. A board that has alphabets and numbers is used and the group of people would place a finger on a small pointer and the so called spirit would spell out what it has to say. Is it?? There has been countless movies from all over the world that dramatize what people think of it including this year's horror movie Ouija.

In this country, we are more familiar with another version of the game which we call the Spirit of the Coin. It is practically cheaper and easier to come up with. All you need is a piece of paper, a pen and a coin. When coming up with this subject, people would imagine spirits, paranormal activities, the devil and so on; but does it necessarily be it? What I mean is what is it that makes the pointer or the coin move?

I don't even know if there are any people who has the same perception that I have, but I personally think that it has nothing to do with spirits, the devil or anything. I believe it is all in our minds..our subconscious mind. How did I come to think that?

As I mentioned earlier, here we are more familiar with using coins, and my experience of playing this 'game' goes back when I was about 10 years old. Back then, I as other people do, thought of it to be linked with spirits etc; but over time I became too familiar with the game that I could play alone by myself. That is the point when I started doubting it to be supernatural. When playing alone, I found that what comes out of the board actually rooted from my mind, and when my mind is empty the coin would go crazy and go all over the place! Of course over time I've been called satanic..morbid or whatsoever. Even though I tried to explain and prove it, they are always skeptical. Yet, I am confident with my theory and give no s**t about it.

But then another question arose. How does it work? Of course I have no way of proving this scientifically, but I do have a theory and reference, even though not a strong one. Our fingertips is a special part of our body. It has the most efficient sense of touch. It is fascinating how blind people can read braille so efficiently. Check out this website I found Energy Between Your Hands. It's a way of channeling energy through your palms. I skeptically tried it and surprisingly it does work.

It has also been linked with intuition where there is a German term Fingerspitzengef that translates as 'fingertips feeling' which means intuitive flair or instinct. Instincts are like the ROM chips of motherboards. The data is there but it runs in the background. When the PC is shut down, it keeps running, keeping date, time and other settings.

There are a lot of things we don't understand, but with reason, research and cutting back watching spooky movies, we can understand what is going on around us. If my opinion proves true, I think that Ouija can even be sold as a board game along with Monopoly, Scrabbles and others. It has got to be fun!!

Scarred

Scars, they don't heal. They are just forgotten or got used to. But when I look at these scars which I've got from a road accident almost ten years ago, I realized that, and (just to make an intellectual appeal) how our past makes us who we are today. It doesn't take a philosopher to tell you just that, but feeling it yourself in your gut is totally a different thing. Creeps you up.

A matter of antimatter (part2)

Just a day after the all the hassle about the Higgs boson, the scientists at CERN has announced their discovery of it which took them decades after the theory of its existence was came up by the Peter Higgs fella. I just checked today on Wikipedia, they already changed the status of Hb from something like "Yet to be discovered" to "Tentatively confirmed..". He must have been proud for what he predicted to exist in 1964 came to be discovered through so much effort and cost and he's still alive to witness it.

A matter of antimatter

Okay..I am going to warn you upfront..because i am writing a post concerning quantum physics, religion and a movie which i had no whatsoever knowledge or experience save SPM Physics which i continuously and deliberately skipped writing lab reports for some unexplainable reason.

Yesterday i was browsing Yahoo homepage as usual..which has been my browser default page and i stumbled upon an article about Higgs boson also known as 'God Particle'. It instantly sparked and intrigue upon me of how can some quantum physic  thingy be named as such.

I read the whole article but i was far from understanding the whole of it except some basic things that i hope have not misunderstood. Subatomic particles are categorized into two which is bosons and fermions. The Higgs boson is  still not proven of its existence but theoretically it is an elemental subatomic particle which its existence revokes the term 'atoms'..used for (of course)atoms which means 'indivisible'.

Them physicists say that every matter or atom or sub-atom or whatever particle has some kind of invisible, without mass, evil twin called antiparticle which has the opposite character, creating a symmetry of every matter in this whole universe. Now..the Higgs boson here is a very elemental particle making its other half what they believe to be the antimatter..the essence of the creation of matter..the beginning from the nothingness of the void.

The antimatter is supposed to be separated by the smashing particles using high powered particle accelerators. If an antimatter can be handled..it may be manipulated for the production of energy since the collision of antimatter with matter can create an explosion. The collision that supposedly 'developed' the universe (the Big Bang) to what it is today.

Initially i didn't read about it extensively until last night by crazy coincidence, i happen to watch the film Angels and Demons (which i thought was a horror movie), about how the adopted son of the Vatican pope trying to stage a series of terror attack supposedly by the infamous Illuminatti against the Vatican..so that he could emerge a hero winning the battle for the Christian faith against science.

These theories have been pursued by physicists to prove the natural occurrences that formed the universe, defying it of God's creation. But for me, all these scientific occurrences are only triggers that does not at all refute the idea of God's creation. As in Muslim belief that not even one single leaf would fall if not by the permission of God, that doesn't mean that it is directly God's hand that does everything. The Almighty has His 'sunnahs' for He had arranged for the universe to 'live' and evolve by itself. Wallahu a'alam.

It's very nice that with the internet an all, everybody can voice out their opinions and make themselves heard.

But it's double the shittiness that most people start talking about things they are not knowledgeable of and make a fool out of themselves

Dulu dan sekarang

Ungkapan "dulu dan sekarang" satu ungkapan yang sangat cliche dan selalu sangat kita dengar..selain dari merupakan tajuk lagu popular Black Dog Bone yang agak sedap dikaraoke di kala melayan lagu2 melayu lama. Dalam mood2 sedih dan frust, ia menggambarkan betapa bestnye yang dulu berbanding yang sekarang. Tapi betul ke yang dulu lebih baik dari sekarang..?

 Pada aku barang2 lama ni terlalu overrated dan over appreciated yang membuatkan sesetengah orang bersikap nostalgik sebagai contohnya aku sendiri.hehe..Mesti kome biase dengar orang sembang membandingkan betapa bestnya yang dulu2 dengan yang sekarang.contohnya filem..lagu..dsb.

Kalau kita tgk dari segi filem...kita selalu cakap filem P. Ramlee memang takde tandingan. Tapi kene fikir jugak berapa banyak pulak filem selain filem P. Ramlee yang langsung tak best..pun banyak. Same je isunya dengan sekarang. Ada yang betul2 bagus dan ade yang hampeh. Tapi kalau yang dulu kita ingat yang best2 jer. Yang tak best semua kita lupa. Dengan senang2 kita generalize yang lama2 semuanya best. Lagu pun macam tu la jugak. Ini tidak adil..!!

Kesimpulannya, as much as we love the past, just keep an eye open for what's in front of you. Trust me..you're gonna look back at a lot of things of this era in 20-30 years from now.

Kamus & Bahasa

Pada aku..aku seorang yang agak mempunyai minat dalam bidang bahasa dan percakapan manusia. Setakat ini, aku berkebolehan untuk mencarut dalam sekurang-kurangnya 5 bahasa yang berlainan tidak termasuk dalam bahasa pengaturcaraan komputer. Hebat kan? :)

Tapi sejak dulu lagi aku memang mempunyai sentimen yang agak negatif terhadap kamus Bahasa Melayu kita..

Pada pendapat aku, kamus adalah medium yang penting dan banyak berjasa kepada pembangunan bahasa. Ia mendaftarkan hampir semua perkataan yang terdapat dalam bahasa percakapan kita kecuali sebilangan perkataan yang khusus kepada dialek negeri dan juga perkataan-perkataan carutan yang ekstrim dan tidak boleh ditintakan di dalam blog ini. Cewahh...

Sebagaimana pendapat aku mengenai kamus ini, ia menjadi kunci kepada khazanah simpanan bahasa kita, namun ia harus tidak menjadi diktator kepada bagaimana sesuatu bahasa itu digunakan. Malah ia-lah yang harus mengekori evolusi bahasa yang sentiasa berkembang samada disedari atau tidak. Mahukah anda menjadi boneka kepada sebuah penceritaan atau adakah anda mahu menjadi inspirasi bagi apa yang hendak diceritakan? 

Ada beberapa contoh yang aku fikirkan bercanggah dengan lidah aku:

baru - baharu (menyampah aku dengar diaorg sebut dalam berita tv)

lincin - licin (ke aku je yang sebut macam ni?)

lenjun - lencun (spt di atas)

jawap - jawab (bila dijadikan noun pandai lak tukar jadi 'jawapan')

Walau apa pun bahasa adalah jiwa dan entiti bangsa maka cintai dan hargailah bahasa kita. Tanggungjawap memeliharanya adalah tidak lain tanggungjawap kita yang tak mungkin disanggupi oleh bangsa lain. Diingatkan aku tulis ni cuma nak berkongsi pendapat peribadi aku dan tidak harus dianggap sebagai perbincangan ilmiah pun kerana sepertimana yang diketahui aku bukan seorang yang ahli dalam ilmu bahasa di samping sangat suka menyanyikan lagu rock orang putih :P

Makan luar..

Masa aku kecik2 dulu makan kat luar ni merupakan satu bende yg sgt rare dan sgt best..biasenye kalau ade special occasion je. Biasenye kitorg akan makan kat kedai Pak Wan, berhampiran dengan rumah kami pada masa tu iaitu di Manjoi. Masa tu kedai tu yg sebenarnya agak2 quite nice je kalo dibandingkan dengan kedai2 zaman skrg dari segi menunya, tapi dengan ramai customernya..ade aiskrim lg..airnya pulak ade letak payung kecik dalam gelasnya membuatkan rase grand sangat pada masa tu. Apatah lagi kalo skali2 dapat makan fast food seperti KFC dan McD di pekan Ipoh.. memang marveles. Kala nak dikira, makan kat Medan Selera Taman Kanak2 (Children's Playground bak kate bapak aku)..pun dah kira best.Tapi sekarang boleh kate hampir tiap2 kali makan di luar..ade je bende yang menyakitkan hati dan perut. 

Yang aku paling tak gemor sangat adalah trend kedai2 makan sekarang yang letak prosedur bayor kat kaunter. Ape berat benor ke bontot deme ni x boleh nak collect duit kat meja? Yang dok kat kaunter pun bukannye tokeh..pekerja juga..boleh jimat bayor gaji ke kalo keje duduk kaunter je? Kita yang datang makan dengan perut tengah kenyang2 tu pulak jadi balaci kene beratur kat kaunter nak bayor.

Seperkara lagi biase le..regenye. Kalo rege naik tu jangan harap la barangnye pun bertambah...nak dapat yang sama mcm sebelum2nye pun dah seribu rahmat dah. Tapi yang sakit hati sekali, rege naik..makanannye makin ciput..rase macam longkang. 

Pernah minum teh tarik longkang?? Bab air ni pun sakit hati juga. Kadang2 ade juga kedai yang aku sound tepet jer. Sekarang ni trend buat teh tarik pakai susu cair pulak..warnanye mmg same..rasenye memang payau longkang la.Gula sah2 tak pakai..rege nah..RM1.30...best kan? Kalo gula naik sekupang sekilo, air pun naik sekupang...gula naik dokupang, air pun naik dokupang. Kejadahnya..deme buat air segelas pakai gula sekilo ke? Pegi kedai mamak..ayam goreng sketoi RM3-3.50.Kalo ade KFC dekat2 situ beli je ayam goreng ala carte 2 ketoi RM6.40..lagi puas ati..konfem sedap.

Aku bukan suke2 nak hentam diaorg ni..aku pun tau taraf hidup di Malaysia ni walaupun tak banyak serba sedkit dah meningkat berbanding dulu. Zaman aku kecik dulu, kalo takat jual karipap tepi jalan belum tentu cukup barang makan di rumah. Sekarang kalo jual karipap boleh pakai kete besor. Aku tak salahkan deme nak senang..tapi beragak le juga. Jangan sampai pelanggan terase dianiaya..tambah2 bab2 makan minum ni. Mentang2 la bukan nak bini diaorg yang makan...yang x habih dibawak ke esok..ntah elok ntah idak pun x tentu..biase je aku dapat nescafe / milo masam kat foodcourt2 shopping complex. Bab kebersihan toksah harap sangat la. Tawakkal jer. 

Kot mane pun..biase2kan le makan di rumah..masak sendiri.. Kalo skali-skala nak makan char kuey tiaw ke..bihun tomyam ke..roti canai ke gi le ke luor. Kang kalo order bende2 tu kat rumah kang ade yang kene backhand lak nanti..huhu..

Things I'd like to do in my lifetime..

I wouldn't put it under 'azam tahun baru' coz that would be bluffing since I'm not planning to do any one of it this year..just a note to myself about the things I'd like to do given the opportunity.. Well, here's the list...

1. Write a fantasy novel

2. Write a good bluesy rock song

3. Go to Wakken Heavy Metal Festival in Germany

4. Record a song played by myself alone (an own song or a cover would do)

5. Build a home studio

6. Go scuba diving

7. Get a pet tortoise

8. Make babies??..huhu 

..no bungee jumping for me though

2012 - Invitation continued.. (part 2)

I decided to mention a few things which caught enough of my attention for me to remember with this forgetful brain of mine.

I shall remember this year as the year Osama bin Laden had been killed, so it is believed, despite the decision to set adrift his remains to sea which sounds pretty fishy (not because the sea part though). This year also witnessed the killing of another Arab leader, the President of Libya, Moammar Gadaffi who was brutally tortured..which I deem to be an improper way to punish for whatever crime he did commit if any.

Locally, I shall remember Perhimpunan Bersih 2.0, the DUMC raid which caught the attention of Malaysia concerning the effort of  churches to Christianize Malays (though not newly discovered), subsequently lead to the rally Himpunan Sejuta Ummah, which was criticized by many including by Islamic Renaissance Front (IRF) related authors of theStar Online and Harakah.net.

Also this year DS Rosmah blindly appointed herself as the First Lady of Malaysia and hosted and represented Malaysia in Sidang Kemuncak Wanita2 Pertama Dunia (oh..that was in 2010 wasn't it?).

In addition, up until this year, we still believe that global warming is a threat to the world.

All in all, this marks the second year of this blog's existence. I myself am not very sure will this blog keep up its pace like last year, which is slow enough, but I still do have a lot of things to write even though time constraints doesn't give much opportunity. Anyway I'll work on it, and I just might make a set of wishlist to myself which I had in mind in the near future.

2012 - Invitation

 

I don't see why I have to announce my first posting for this year...like some others do..but heck, I just like the sound of it. I'm not gonna give you the "I'm aiming to write more post this year" crap or anything though because it's just wrong..unless writing is not your interest and the only reason you're blogging is just to generate the Nuffnang income (which I fail to do obviously) well then..yes. 

What I mean is you shouldn't be troubled just by how you lack doing something you love. But then, that does mean something doesn't it? It means that you already have something better to do which you enjoy more..or.. maybe you're just piled up by tons of shit from the office and have no time to spare for anything you'd like to do which turns you into one big loser with no life!

Well..the last last time I did a flashback of the year was in 2007 (the only year apparently) and that's the only year I have something clever to say. Up until last year...hmmm,hmmm, and hmmm all the way.

But let me see..there should be something worth mentioning that happened last year, right?...maybe I'll just get back to this next year eh?

The Pursuit Of Greatness

The pursuit of greatness..Is it from inspiration, is it envy or is it greed that leads us to the temptation of being superior, iconic or even legendary? Is it possible that our deeds and virtues would be told and sung by like the legends of old? Is it still possible in today's world locomotion where everything has to be quick thus bound to be meaningless?

Today it's easier being inspired by a movie character than a real life figure. The kindle is usually something that moves you on the inside. It's like what it feels after watching Forrest in Forrest Gump, Archilles in Troy, or William Wallace in Braveheart. You can hear the screaming urge of your inner self struggling, trying to break free..maybe something like the Hulk inside Bruce Banner or Eddie Brock and his alien symbiote in Spiderman.

If the urge is strong, it will stay for a week or two, influencing your thoughts and acts and after a while it withers until you become you again. Then I begin to wonder if I myself could be something that of what makes them special. There's no war here like in Tolkien's Middle Earth to become a legendary warrior..of course I am no king to rule a land of miracles. Our world now lacks of giving the opportunity for us to appreciate and indulge into something that we admire and passionate about. It's all about the end result and never about the journey. Time is inexpendable.

But then they say that great people does not need opportunity. They stand out from people..they push through the barriers and create what they have designed for themselves. That is their quality.

Every man dies, not every man really lives

Those who inspire people become what they they not by chance nor by fate alone. It's because of who they are what they're made of..and of course from that comes the deeds that follow. Then I started thinking that not everybody have the capacity to become great. Something of that magnitude would usually need a lifelong dedication and sacrifice to be achieved, which comes naturally to the special ones.Well maybe I should just settle for mediocrity..heheh..

My dead babies!!

Baru minggu lepas ikan aku yang comel, Shin Chan (sblm ini dikenali sbg Nagano) mati..semalam Shiro (Makoto) yang cantik pulak mati..my poor babies..Minggu lepas Shin Chan mati lemas pasal filter tersumbat. Shiro lak tiba2 je mati. Mungkin sedih Shin Chan dah mati kot.

So far diaorg berdua ni la ikan yang paling lame aku pernah bela sejak kecil. Dari aku duduk di rumah Tmn Meru sampai la aku berpindah kerja di KL..aku rase dkt setahun stengah kot. Dari kecik kurus sampai la cute dan debab macam mummy diaorg..hehe. Dulu kecik2 mak aku belikan aku ikan emas paling lame 2 hari je tahan pasal bela dalam balang plastik yang takde pam oksigen. Yang idup lame skit pun ikan guppy kecik tu je..tak payah pam pun.

Dua ekor ikan emas aku ni ikan emas paling cantik aku pernah jumpe. First time aku nampak kat kedai aquarium kat Greentown Mall Ipoh terus aku beli walaupun harga agak mahal (banding dengan ikan2 lain aku pernah beli)..RM10 sekor..dan yang paling besar pun.

Tergelak juge mikir time aku bawak balik diaorg dalam baldi time cuti raye aritu.kelakar tul. Siap ade adegan paramedik lari naik ke rumah pasal ikan dah nak pewai lame dok dalam baldi naik kete dari Ipoh ke KL.

Tak tau la nak bela ikan lagi ke tak. Rase macam kesian pun ade. Nanti mati lagi pulak kang. Ape2 pun..farewell my little dumplings. Hope you're happy there in fish heaven..
